Abstract: This article presents the protection relay (IR) with several functions for systems based on inverters that use a paraconsistent neural network. This network works with favorable, unfavorable degrees of evidence, sensitivity and time. The IR includes the functions of islanding detection, fault detection, fault type recognition and selective fault blocking. The proposed multifunctional APL4v IR was tested in a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environment. The results show that the proposed IR is superior to traditional island recognition methods in terms of reliability, security and detection time.
