RELAÇÕES HUMANAS COM A ÁGUA: PERSPECTIVAS PARA NOVAS ABORDAGENS NA SENSIBILIZAÇÃO E EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL
A racionalidade moderna, baseada
na visão antropocêntrica, atua na dicotomia entre
os seres humanos e a natureza, resultando em
um afastamento e na apropriação da natureza.
É preciso reestabelecer uma reconexão
com a natureza e, para isso, é importante a
sensibilização e a educação ambiental. Hoje,
a água, principal elemento natural, tem sido
degradada e sofrido profundo distanciamento
pelas pessoas. Entretanto, as relações humanas
com a água não devem ser pensadas apenas
para uso e consumo, mas também em todos
os aspectos simbólicos, religiosos e afetivos.
Assim, o objetivo desse artigo é apresentar
e analisar distintas relações humanas com a
água, manifestadas por moradores locais de
Pirapora-MG, localizado às margens do rio
São Francisco. Para isso, foi realizada uma
pesquisa qualitativa, envolvendo o estudo de
caso por meio da utilização de entrevistas.
Foram analisadas entrevistas nas quais se pode
vivenciar a rotina e acompanhar o cotidiano
dessas pessoas. Trechos das entrevistas foram
selecionados para indicar outras relações
humanas com a água, totalmente diferentes
das relações utilitaristas de uso e consumo. A
educação ambiental pode agregar ainda mais
elementos de interpretação e de transformação,
reposicionando a gestão utilitarista da água
para uma perspectiva mais ampla de sua
relação com os seres humanos. Considera-se
que os aspectos simbólicos e culturais devam
ser transmitidos em novas formas de educação
e sensibilização ambiental para a conservação
da água.

Abstract:
Modern rationality based on
anthropocentric vision, acts on the dichotomy
between humans and nature, resulting in a
remote and in the appropriation of nature. It
should be re-establish a reconnection with
nature, for it is important to environmental
education and awareness. Today, the water, the
main natural element, has been demoted and
suffered deep distance by people. However,
human relations with water should not be designed just for use and consumption, but
also for symbolic, religious and affective aspects. Thus, the objective of this article
was to identify and analyze different human relationships with water, voiced by local
residents of Pirapora-MG, located on the banks of the São Francisco River. For that,
was based on a qualitative research, involving the case study with interviews. For this
chapter, interviews were analyzed in which one can experience the routine and follow
the daily life of these people. Excerpts from the interviews were selected to indicate
other human relationships with water different from utilitarian relations of use and
consumption. Environmental education can add even more elements of interpretation
and transformation, repositioning utilitarian water management to a broader perspective
of its relationship with humans. It is considered that the symbolic and cultural aspects
should be transmitted in new forms of education and environmental awareness for the
conservation of water.
