• Abstract:

  In cinematographic history,

  the use of images and documentary texts

  is a constant and diversified practice in the

  elaboration of narratives, including animations.

  For analysis, in this article, we chose the

  animation The Ballerina (Ballerina, Eric

  Summer and Eric Warin, 2016), a film that uses

  practices such as dance, arts and architecture,

  as well as the feeling of achievement, freedom

  and justice that the setting of Paris in the late

  nineteenth century. It was with the insertion

  of the representation of the historical images

  that is the ambience was constructed and,

  on the other hand, with the manifestation of

  the documentary content that the animation

  guaranteed the stimulus to a sense of

  belonging in the spectators, that goes beyond

  the traditions of the cinema. Because it binds

  the narrative to the valuation of a subjective

  voice in the representation of the documentary

  record and contemporary art.
