Abstract: This article seeks to analyze the relationship between Mozambique and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) within the scope of the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) program. the Board of Directors concluded the second evaluation of the agreement signed with Mozambique under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) program, providing the country with access to 45.44 million SDRs (equivalent to approximately 60.6 million USD. The three-year agreement reached under the ECF aims to support Mozambique's economic recovery, reduce public debt and financing vulnerabilities, while promoting more vigorous and inclusive growth through structural reforms. In light of the mixed programmatic results, The authorities have taken substantial measures to decisively face the macroeconomic challenges and keep the program on track, particularly with regard to reducing the wage bill and 2 aligning the budgetary outlook with the program's objectives. The restrictive monetary policy stance adopted is adequate to contain inflationary pressures. Negotiations that began virtually on January 31, 2022, culminated in reaching an agreement in principle (Staff Level Agreement), for the implementation of a program of macroeconomic and structural reforms with the support of the IMF, in the period 2022-2025, supported by the extended financing instrument (abbreviated as EFC: Extended Fund Facility). Within the framework of this program, the country will benefit from financing of around 470 million US dollars. With the IMF's financial availability to the Mozambican government, it encouraged good governance, the fight against corruption, macroeconomic stability and debt control. There is now a desire from the other partners who have the IMF as a reference, from the point of view of following the signal that it is sending of confidence to the Government of Mozambique or to the country as a whole.
