Abstract: Abstract: The cotton crop (Gossypium hirsutum) presents numerous diseases that affect photosynthetic activity, such as ramularia leaf spot (RLS), causing significant losses in productivity. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of different plant populations, chemical control and sowing times on the severity of ramularia leaf spot (RLS) in cotton crops. The experiment was carried out with the cultivar TMG 47B2RF, on the Progresso farm in the 2022 harvest, in Primavera do Leste, MT. The design used was in randomized blocks, with four treatments (four plant densities), and with four replications and paired controls. The plant population factor consisted of i) 66,666 plants ha-1; ii) 88,888 plants ha-1 and iii) 111,111 plants ha-1; 4) 133,333 plants ha-1. The control factor chemical management (seven applications) i) with management and ii) without management with fungicides. The planting time factor was carried out i) planting in the first half of January, ii) planting in the second half of February. The severity (%) of MR was evaluated via a diagrammatic scale at 96, 103, 116, 122, 129, 136 and 143 days after planting (DAP). The parameters area under degree curve progress RLS (AUDCPRLS) were calculated and RLS infection rate (RLSIR). Hypothesis tests and multivariate analyzes were carried out for the different response variables, using the free computational package R. The severity of cotton RLS decreased with the increase in plant planting density (plants meters-1). The RLS epidemic was greater in cotton plants grown in January than in February. The application with fungicides reduced the severity of RLS by 37.69% severity presented in the control for 12.14% severity in the fungicide application program.
