Abstract: -Objective: Determine the relationship between the facial pattern and the shape of the dental arch in patients from the dental clinic of the UANCV, Juliaca. Material and methods: relational, retrospective, transversal study, documentary scope. 40 extra and intraoral photographs from the Periodontics Clinic 2019-II protocols were evaluated. Facial pattern was evaluated with facial opening angle and dental arch shape with Orthoform Arch Shape Insoles. Results: Of the shape of the upper arch with the type of facial pattern, 72.50% presented the Orthoform type III arch shape (ovoid), and of them 30.00% with a mesofacial pattern, 42.50% dolichofacial. Regarding the shape of the lower arch and its relationship with the type of facial pattern, 67.50% presented Orthoform type III (ovoid) lower arch shape, of which 25.00% presented a mesofacial pattern and 42.50% presented a dolichofacial pattern, no patient presented a pattern. brachyfacial. Conclusion: There is no relationship between the type of facial pattern and the shape of the dental arch, however a highly significant relationship was found between the type of facial pattern with gender p=0.005619, with the female gender presenting a dolichofacial pattern and the male gender a mesofacial pattern.
