Abstract: Identify the relationship of the socioeconomic-cultural level with self-medication for the management of dental pain in patients who attended the Taraco Health Center. Material and methods: prospective, transversal, observational and analytical research. The study units were 94 patients; 2 validated questionnaires were applied to each patient. The hypothesis was tested using the X2 statistic. Results: Of 94 patients, 10.60% had a very low socioeconomic-cultural level and 3.20% managed their pain with analgesics, and 7.40% with other types of self-medication. 78.70% had a low socio- economic-cultural level and managed dental pain with self-medication with analgesics 22.30%, 52.10% with other types of self-medication. 9.60% had a medium socioeconomic-cultural level and 7.40% managed dental pain with analgesics, 1.10% with others. 1.10% had a medium-high socioeconomic- cultural level and managed dental pain with analgesics. The Xi2 test obtained a p value = 0.027872 <0.05. Conclusion: socioeconomic-cultural level has a significant relationship with self-medication for the management of dental pain.
