O Apgar é o índice mais utilizado,

atualmente, para a classificação da vitalidade

do recém-nascido. Este consiste na avaliação

de 5 sinais no primeiro, quinto e décimo

minutos após o nascimento. Atribui-se a cada

um dos sinais uma pontuação de 0 a 2. Esses

sinais são: frequência cardíaca, frequência

respiratória, tônus muscular, cor da pele

e presença de reflexos. Assim, infere-se a

importância de analisar os critérios que podem

influenciar no índice Apgar, no intuito de traçar

um perfil clínico e epidemiológico e auxiliar

no planejamento dos cuidados perinatais,

tornando possível a identificação de fatores

desfavoráveis, um cuidado mais especializado

e o alcance com melhores desfechos. Logo, o

presente trabalho terá como objetivo analisar o

índice Apgar do quinto minuto, comparando-o

com as variáveis: idade materna, tipo de parto e

número de consultas de pré-natal, na tentativa

de estabelecer uma possível relação entre os

parâmetros citados.

Abstract:
Apgar is currently the most widely used index for the classification of newborn vitality. It consists of the evaluation of five

responses at the first, fifth and tenth minute after birth: heart rate, respiratory effort,

muscle tone, skin color and reflex irritability. Assigning a score from 0 to 2 to each of

these responses. Thus, the importance of analyzing the criteria that can influence the

Apgar index is inferred, in order to draw a clinical and epidemiological profile and assist

in the planning of perinatal care, enabling the identification of unfavorable factors,

more specialized care and a range with better outcomes. Therefore, this work seeks

to analyze the Apgar index of the fifth minute, comparing it to the variables of maternal

age, type of delivery and number of prenatal visits, in an attempt to establish a possible

relationship between the mentioned parameters.
