Abstract: The expanding body of scientific research has increasingly validated the significance of regular physical exercise as a potent intervention for the prevention and management of various chronic conditions. This evidence not only underscores the critical role of exercise in health promotion but also highlights its influence on reducing mortality rates, enhancing quality of life, and extending longevity. This study aimed to assess the levels of physical activity and perceived quality of life among university staff members who participated in a swimming intervention project in northwest Paraná. This cross-sectional research employed two questionnaires (IPAQ and SF36) administered after six months of the swimming intervention. The final sample included twenty-three staff members, comprising 13 men and 10 women. Statistical analysis was conducted with stratification by sex. The results indicated that participants were classified as physically active, and there was a positive correlation between physical activity and quality of life. These findings suggest the need for the implementation of strategies that effectively enhance quality of life by emphasizing the importance of physical activity, promoting targeted interventions, and ensuring the availability of appropriate environments to support these initiatives.
