Abstract: The advent of COVID-19 unexpectedly exposed society to how vulnerable we are to diseases, resulting in the development of complications and prompting a search for ways to mitigate this new reality. As a result, patients with hypertension exhibit a delicate clinical condition. Given the severity that the disease tends to impose on the afflicted, often resulting in tragic outcomes, it can lead to complications even when treated and, in some cases, to fatalities. Therefore, this research aims to explore the relationship between systemic arterial hypertension and COVID-19, with a focus on nutrition, in order to contribute to better treatment and improved quality of life for individuals. Consequently, analyzing the effects of nutrition in the treatment of hypertension after COVID-19 represents a PICO search strategy, involving the Population (adults), Intervention (hypertension), Comparison (COVID-19), and Outcome (nutrition) criteria, conducted on the Medline platform via Pubmed, using MESH terms and Boolean operators AND and OR. The results yielded 52 occurrences, of which 3 studies met the established criteria. The findings indicate that a balanced diet, rich in macro and micronutrients, especially those with antioxidant properties like vitamins A, D, C, Zinc, and Selenium, supports the proper functioning of the immune system, demonstrating a positive relationship in the recovery of hypertensive patients with COVID-19."
