Abstract: The Children’s Choir Tons e Cores is part of the EDUCANTO extension project: Musical Education through children’s choir singing. This article aims to know the socioeconomic-musical profile of the chorus singers’ families, identifying characteristics of parents who provide their children with extra-school musical learning. Among the results obtained through the application of a questionnaire, it was highlighted that most respondents are between 30 and 40 years of age, belonging to the middle class, whose education is higher. As they consider music an integral part of child development, they look to Tons e Cores as a way to contribute to their children’s musical learning and development, influence the taste for music and inclusion in musical practice. A significant part of these families has an evangelical background, which can lead to restrictions in choosing a repertoire that is at odds with their beliefs.
