REFLEXÕES SOBRE INICIATIVAS DE POPULARIZAÇÃO DA CIÊNCIA ATRAVÉS DE PROJETOS DE EXTENSÃO
Este trabalho tem como objetivo a realização de reflexões sobre a popularização da ciência a partir de projetos de extensão como uma importante prática da educação não formal. É defendido a importância da transposição didática desses saberes e analisado a relevância da troca de conhecimento entre a instituição promotora do projeto de extensão e o público. São relatadas as experiências de três projetos: um envolvendo curso sobre a carreira científica e a relação entre a ciência e os aspetos ambientais e tecnológicos; um envolvendo a confecção e exposição de experimentos de baixo custo e outro que analisou a divulgação e popularização dos conhecimentos sobre astronomia. Constatou-se a partir da revisão bibliográfica e da análise destas práticas o potencial de exploração destas iniciativas para a promoção da educação científica focada na formação cidadã e na busca em aumentar o interesse dos jovens na carreira científica.

Abstract:
This work aims to execute reflections on the popularization of science by extension projects as an important practice of non - formal education. It was defended the importance of the didactic transposition of knowledge and it was analyzed the relevance of the exchange of knowledge between the institution that promove the extension project and the public.The experiences of three projects are reported: a course about the scientific career and the relationship between science, technology and environment; a project that involve the making and exposition of low cost experiments and another that analysed the dissemination and popularization of knowledge about astronomy. The bibliographic review and the analysis of the projects showed the potential to explore these initiatives for the promotion of scientific education based on citizen training and searching to increase the interest of young people on scientific career.
