• Abstract: From pregnancy and soon after the baby's birth, the support network is essential for the mother and her newborn, as it is a subjective moment for both. Observing this public at Hospital Hélio Anjos Ortiz- HHAO, it was noticed that the team often made up the support network of these mothers. However, the lack of information and care related to the topic is noticeable, especially in the case of mothers who accompany their newborns during hospitalization. In this way, the objective was to expand knowledge on the subject, enabling the exercise of care and communication to mothers during this period. This article is about the experience report carried out by the academic of the 8th semester of the psychology course, through observations and interventions made in the therapeutic group for mothers who accompany their newborns in the Neonatal and Neopediatric ICU sectors, promoting a space of reception and communication about the importance of the maternal support network.
