Abstract: The Campeche population has the habit of using a diversity of natural resources to help control various diseases such as Diabetes, so they use the natural resources found in their region, of which they have information on the uses of these through knowledge inherited from their ancestors. The resources used in six communities in the central region of Campeche: Hool, Nohacal, Chiná, San Agustín Olá, Hampolol, Chenblas, and five communities in the northern region: Tenabo, Pomuch, Hecelchakán, Calkiní y Dzitbalché. son: hoja de Aguacate (Persea americana Miller), Chicozapote (Manilkhara zapota (L.) Van Royen, hojas de Cinanché (Zanthoxylum caribaeum Lam) hojas de Damiana (Justicia spicegera Schltdl), hojas de Guayaba (Psidium guajava), Kundeamor (Momordica charantia L.) hojas de Maculis (Tabebuia rosea (Bertol.), leaves of Neem (Azadirachta indica A. Juss), Nopal (Nopalea gaumari Britton & Rouse.). D.C.), Cow's foot (Bauhinia divaricata L.), Pixoy (Guazuma ulmifolia), Tamarind (Tamarindus indica L.). It is important to raise awareness among the general population of the therapeutic effects and risks of the indiscriminate use of medicinal plants since they can generate adverse or toxic reactions, so it is necessary to know the scientific evidence of the benefits and toxicity of the different resources.
