RECICLAR E CONSCIENTIZAR: DESAFIOS E POSSIBILIDADES DA IMPLANTAÇÃO DE UMA ASSOCIAÇÃO DE CATADORES DE MATERIAL RECICLÁVEL PARA A DESTINAÇÃO CORRETA DO LIXO MUNICIPAL
O desfecho correto do lixo é uma complexa questão da administração pública. Esse entrave ocorre em diversos municípios, tendo em vista que gerir os resíduos sólidos não é uma tarefa fácil e requer incentivos tanto da administração pública quanto da população para mudar essa realidade. O objetivo desse trabalho é relatar a realidade da associação dos catadores de materiais recicláveis da cidade de Nova Cantu-PR, que com incentivo municipal e da população, consegue destinar corretamente os materiais recicláveis produzidos pela população. Justifica-se a escolha deste tema para estudo, devido à importância em conscientizar a população sobre reciclagem, visando reduzir os impactos ambientais e garantir um futuro melhor para as futuras gerações. A abordagem metodológica deste trabalho é de caráter qualitativa, sendo que nossas fontes de dados foram livros, artigos científicos, documentos municipais e relatos dos trabalhadores dessa associação de reciclagem. Aliás, contamos também com a colaboração do secretário municipal de meio ambiente que, propôs a criação da associação supracitada, sendo o responsável pelas ações sociais de conscientização. Uma dessas ações sociais, é um concurso municipal que premiam as melhores transformações de materiais recicláveis em um novo produto. Nossos dados apresentam indícios de que é possível reduzir os impactos ambientais do lixo e ainda realizar a destinação correta do lixo orgânico e dos recicláveis. Além disso, foi possível compreender que o desfecho correto do lixo orgânico e reciclável, proporciona fonte de renda para os coletores de recicláveis.

Abstract:
The correct disposal of waste is a complex matter of public administration. This obstacle occurs in several municipalities, given that managing solid waste is not an easy task and requires incentives from both the public administration and the population to change this reality. The objective of this paper is to report the reality of the association of waste pickers of the city of Nova Cantu-PR, which with municipal and public incentive, can properly dispose of recyclable materials produced by the population. It is justified to choose this topic for study, due to the importance of raising awareness about recycling, aiming to reduce environmental impacts and ensure a better future for future generations. The methodological approach of this work is qualitative, and our data sources were books, scientific articles, municipal documents and reports from the workers of this recycling association. In fact, we also count on the collaboration of the municipal secretary of the environment, who proposed the creation of the aforementioned association, being responsible for social awareness actions. One such social action is a municipal contest that awards the best transformations of recyclable materials into a new product. Our data show that it is possible to reduce the environmental impacts of waste and to properly dispose of organic waste and recyclables. In addition, it was possible to understand that the correct outcome of organic and recyclable waste provides a source of income for recyclable collectors.
