Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the merit of the Recicla-CAp Program, from the College of Application of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (CAp-UFRJ), according to the criteria established by Davidson (2005): validity, usefulness, conduct, credibility and costs. Methods: the evaluative approach adopted for this study corresponded to that centered on experts. To enable the judgment of aspects inherent to Recicla-CAp, a questionnaire was prepared with closed and open items. The instrument construction process involved content, semantic and technical validation procedures. The final version of the questionnaire was applied to a group made up of six members of the Program's executive committee. Results: Recicla CAp met four of the five criteria established for the evaluation study, with the exception of the Costs criterion, which did not meet the required performance standard. The partial services, as well as the lack of compliance with the criteria, highlighted the weak points of the Program, the biggest being the lack of resources and/or financing to guarantee its continuity and improvement. Conclusion: based on the partial vulnerabilities, it was concluded that Recicla CAp needs improvements that can be adopted through coordination between the executing committee and the school community. In this sense, the study suggested measures that could be implemented at the institutional level.
