Abstract: Introduction: Leprosy reactions are inflammatory complications of leprosy that can cause serious health problems and neurological complications. There are two main types of reactions: type 1 (reverse reaction) and type 2 (erythema nodosum leprosy), each with specific clinical characteristics and treatments. Objective: To present the management of inflammatory reactions in leprosy and its neurological complications. Method: This work is an exploratory research of the bibliographic review type, carried out by searching for articles in the Google Scholar, MEDLINE, LILACS, SciELO and PubMed databases that contained reports or descriptions on diagnostic approaches to Leprosy. This review on Leprosy comprised the critical analysis of articles from scientific journals. Results and Discussion: Early recognition of reactions is essential to initiate appropriate treatment and prevent sequelae. Educating patients and healthcare professionals about the signs and symptoms of reactions is essential for effective diagnosis and treatment. Furthermore, improving access to healthcare and investing in infrastructure are important for leprosy control. Conclusion: Continued research into immunological mechanisms and new therapeutic strategies is crucial to improve disease management and reduce its impact.
