Abstract: The acromioclavicular (AC) joint is essential for the stability of the shoulder girdle and shoulder mobility, and is often affected by injuries in contact sports, traffic accidents, and falls. These injuries compromise the patients' quality of life, and despite the various therapeutic options available, there is no consensus on the best approach for treatment and rehabilitation. Physiotherapy is fundamental in recovery, both in general injuries and in the postoperative phase of more severe cases. This study aims to evaluate the different therapeutic strategies applied to the treatment of acromioclavicular injuries, with an emphasis on physiotherapeutic interventions. The research, conducted through a systematic literature review, selected articles from databases such as PubMed, Medline, and Google Scholar, using descriptors like "Impact Syndrome," "Pain," "Shoulder," "Treatment," and "Physiotherapy." The study covered conservative treatments, such as the use of anti-inflammatories, functional immobilization, and physiotherapy, as well as surgical options. Physiotherapeutic interventions include techniques like joint mobilization, muscle strengthening, stretching, and the use of functional taping, aimed at restoring joint function and alleviating pain. The results indicate that although treatment protocols vary, conservative treatment is effective for most cases, with physiotherapy playing a crucial role in rehabilitation, preventing complications, and improving quality of life. However, the use of functional taping requires further studies, and the optimization of therapeutic protocols is necessary for a more efficient recovery.
