Abstract: Unfinished buildings are undeniably visual landmarks in the urban landscape and in some cases contribute to the deterioration of their surroundings, amplifying the vision of abandonment of the region. Popularly known as "skeletons", these buildings have recently been the object of study and listed as potential objects for rehabilitation, considering the large housing deficit and the sustainable demands for construction materials. To answer the recurring question about the financial viability of these works, in a market addicted to the constant demolition and construction of new buildings, we will bring some case studies for analysis. This paper makes a historical/social record of the Harry Dannenberg Occupancy, together with technical tests to be proposed in a possible rehabilitation. In this context it seeks to prove that the housing use is the best option for the structure, both from a social and technical point of view. At the end, the technical tests and the prototyping of parts contained in this work also seek solutions that optimize the construction time, with materials adaptable to an existing building and of easy availability in the market.
