QUE CABELO É ESSE? É O MEU. O CABELO COMO SÍMBOLO DA IDENTIDADE NEGRA NO CURSO DE EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA DA UNIMONTES
Observando um movimento que tem se tornado cada vez mais visível, um movimento de apresentação e aceitação do cabelo tal como ele é: afro, black, crespo, natural, sentimos a necessidade de entender esta tendência no contexto universitário. Portanto, o presente estudo investigou o significado do cabelo e os sentidos a ele atribuídos por mulheres e homens negros estudantes do curso de Educação Física da Universidade Estadual de Montes Claros e como o cabelo está relacionado à identidade negra. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva com análise qualitativa dos dados. A amostra foi constituída por dez acadêmicos/as do referido curso que se consideravam negros/as e que tivessem passado por processo de mudança, quanto ao uso do cabelo, no decorrer do curso. Como recursos metodológicos foram realizadas: pesquisa bibliográfica e de campo; sendo aplicada uma entrevista semiestruturada para realização desta última. Os dados coletados foram analisados qualitativamente, através da técnica de categorias, proposta por Minayo et al. (2002).

Abstract:
Observing a movement that has become increasingly visible; a movement of presentation and acceptance of the hair as it just is: afro, black, curly, natural, we feel the need to understand this trend in the university context. Thus, the present study investigated the meaning of hair and the meanings attributed to it by black women and men, students of the Physical Education course at the State University of Montes Claros and how hair is related to black identity. It is a descriptive research with qualitative analysis of the data. The sample comprised ten students from the course mentioned who considered themselves black and who had gone through a process of change on the use of the hair during the course. The following methodological resources were carried out: a bibliographic and field research; a semi-structured interview was applied to carry out this latter. The collected data were qualitatively analyzed, using the categories technique proposed by Minayo (2002).
