Abstract: This work discuss the individualities of self-knowledge present in the name, about gender, outside the binary perspective, identity and self-affirmation in the school environment, focusing on the role of the teacher as a mediator of relationships in the classroom. The booklet “Meu nome é…”, analyzed here, arises from discussions in the Ensino de História discipline (EDU 467), at the Federal University of Viçosa, and the analysis of the need for support materials for discussions on the topics mentioned and that dialogue with law nº11.645/08, addressing indigenous identity in everyday school life. Its target audience is pedagogy students, teachers and students in early childhood education and in the early years of elementary school, as well as pedagogical coordinators, parents and/or guardians.
