Abstract: This study had as main objective to investigate the factors that are responsible and are related to the academic development of the students, as well as to analyze the socioeconomic profile of the student, trying to understand the high rates of abandonment / avoidance of Brazilian students. In this conjecture, the method of inferences in counterfactual distributions proposed by Chernozhukov, Fernandez-Val and Melly (2013), hereinafter IDC, on a set of information - database - of the ENADE (2015) was adopted. One of the most important results refers to the student who works or not, since those who come to have a work routine get a 0.06 result higher than students who do not come to work. Specifically, as regards marital status, single students perform 0.05 lower than married, evidencing these, which strengthen the fact that EAD is an educational modality aimed at a more mature audience. In addition, it can be noticed that the influence of parents 'schooling, the result was negative, that is, the higher the parents' level of education, the worse the child's performance in EAD.
