Abstract: The scarcity of potable water still represents a significant environmental and social challenge, especially in regions where access to adequate treatment systems is limited. This project proposes the construction of a low-cost portable purifier using simple and accessible materials such as gravel, sand, activated carbon, and cotton. The objective is to demonstrate, in a practical and educational way, the processes of water filtration, adsorption, and disinfection, raising awareness among participants about the importance of potability and sustainability. The purifier will be evaluated through tests with simulated turbid water, considering parameters such as turbidity, odor, and pH. It is expected that the assembly and testing of the device will demonstrate the efficiency of the different treatment stages, reinforcing learning about social technologies and sustainability in water use.
