Psicologia Positiva: Potencialidades Humanas em Sujeitos Transexuais
A transexualidade pode ser definida como uma não concordância entre o sexo biológico e o gênero pelo qual a pessoa gostaria de ser reconhecida socialmente, e que ainda apresenta, em diferentes níveis, um discurso patologizante da expressão de sua subjetividade. A Psicologia Positiva foi escolhida como arcabouço teórico para compreender as virtuosidades desses indivíduos, pois oferta um espaço para investigação de aspectos virtuosos e de aplicação/avaliação de instrumentos que prezam pelo bem-estar e potencialidades existentes em todos os sujeitos. Colaboraram com a pesquisa oito pessoas transexuais. Objetivou-se com este estudo avaliar os níveis de satisfação de vida, afetos, autoestima, autoeficácia, otimismo e esperança de sujeitos transexuais, através de entrevista e instrumentos de avaliação/investigação. Os resultados das escalas indicaram que a maioria dos transexuais apresentou em seus atributos psicológicos resultados na média ou acima da média, quando comparados aos sujeitos avaliados para normatização dos instrumentos. Os colaboradores apresentaram diversos fatores virtuosos e saudáveis, mostrando-se em geral esperançosos, perseverantes e otimistas. Entretanto, novas pesquisas com um número maior de participantes devem ser realizadas.

Abstract:
Transsexuality can be defined as a non-agreement between biological sex and the gender by which the person would like to be socially recognized, and which still presents, at different levels, a pathologizing discourse of the expression of his subjectivity. Positive Psychology was chosen as a theoretical framework to understand the virtues of these individuals, as it offers a space for the investigation of virtuous aspects and for the application / evaluation of instruments that value the well-being and potential existing in all subjects. Eight transsexual people collaborated with the research. The objective of this study was to evaluate the levels of life satisfaction, affections, self-esteem, self-efficacy, optimism and hope of transsexual subjects, through interviews and assessment / investigation instruments. The results of the scales indicated that the majority of transsexuals presented results in their psychological attributes that were average or above average, when compared to the subjects evaluated for standardization of the instruments. The collaborators presented several virtuous and healthy factors, being generally hopeful, persevering and optimistic. However, further research with a larger number of participants must be carried out.
