Abstract: Structured Summary Introduction: The results of this research demonstrate that with a low budget the basic electrical energy needs of a Guajira indigenous dwelling can be supplied through the installation of a small rotating solar panel. Objective: The purpose of this research was the design and construction of a rotating solar system that can satisfy the average monthly consumption of electric energy of a house in the indigenous community of La Raya, in Mayapo in the department of La Guajira, Colombia. Methodology: the research was carried out through the following stages: a collection of climatic and geographical information of the place, a statistical study on the average monthly energy consumption in the homes of the population, the adaptation of an algorithm in arduino, the design and printing of the pieces, and finally, the assembly and articulation of all the pieces of the model. Results: the development of this research results in a prototype with a 9 volt solar panel, which rotates on both axes seeking to obtain the greatest direct solar radiation. Conclusions: The statistical study in the indigenous community of La Raya-Mayapo showed that most homes contain a minimum of two lights, a cell phone and a radio. In the same way this research achieved that the developed prototype will supply enough energy for three coils (3w) and a radio (5w) for 8.5 hours.
