Abstract: The protagonism of young people in their different identities, struggles and challenges in Rural Education and the knowledge produced from their life realities instigated this study. The general objective was to understand the protagonism and challenges experienced by young students when entering university. The methodological path covered qualitative, bibliographic and field research, conversation circles, questionnaires and photographic records were carried out. The analysis resulted from the triangulation of data researched in the field with authors who work on this topic. The results indicate that access to quality school environments in the community itself can improve several dimensions of young people's training and for them to be able to reach universities, it is necessary to create external public policies for young people in the areas of culture, arts, professionalization, the environment, human relations; It is also necessary to form partnerships with competent bodies to provide professional training in the agricultural area, from the perspective of family farming and other topics of interest to youth. With this, the importance of giving visibility to youth transition processes as part of something bigger stands out, demystifying prejudices that still exist on the part of society.
