PROTAGONISMO DA ENFERMAGEM NA PREVENÇÃO DE INFECÇÕES DE SÍTIO CIRÚRGICO
As infecções de sítio cirúrgico representam aproximadamente 14% a 16% de todas as infecções relacionadas a assistência à saúde, sendo a complicação mais comum do paciente cirúrgico podendo levá-lo a óbito. É imprescindível que os profissionais de saúde conheçam os fatores de risco que contribuem para o desencadeamento de infecções de sítio cirúrgico e apliquem as medidas preventivas. Tem-se como objetos deste estudo a atuação da enfermagem na prevenção das infecções de sítio cirúrgico e os fatores de risco para a ocorrência de infecções de ferida operatória. Os objetivos foram: Identificar de que forma os profissionais de enfermagem atuam para prevenir as infecções de sítio cirúrgico, identificar as ações de enfermagem que previnem infecções de ferida operatória e descrever os fatores de risco para a ocorrência de infecções em sítio cirúrgico. Trata-se de pesquisa bibliográfica com revisão da literatura de caráter exploratório com abordagem qualitativa. Os resultados foram divididos em categorias para facilitar a análise dos dados: Definição das infecções de sítio cirúrgico; Fatores de risco para infecção de sítio cirúrgico; Classificação das cirurgias por potencial de contaminação da incisão cirúrgica; Cuidados e cicatrização da ferida; O centro de material e esterilização e a prevenção e controle de infecção; Controle e prevenção da infecção no centro cirúrgico. Conclui-se que as infecções hospitalares são uma grande questão em saúde pública, a prevenção é o meio mais fácil, com menor custo e mais eficiente para lutar contra essa problemática, em especial as infecções de sítio cirúrgico.

Abstract:
Surgical site infections represent approximately 14% to 16% of all infections related to health care, being the most common complication of the surgical patient, which can lead to death. It is essential that health professionals know the risk factors that contribute to triggering surgical site infections and apply preventive measures. The objects of this study are the role of nursing in the prevention of surgical site infections and the risk factors for the occurrence of surgical wound infections. The objectives were: To identify how nursing professionals act to prevent surgical site infections, identify nursing actions that prevent surgical wound infections and describe the risk factors for the occurrence of surgical site infections. This is a bibliographic research with an exploratory literature review with a qualitative approach. Results were divided into categories to facilitate data analysis: Definition of surgical site infections; Risk factors for surgical site infection; Classification of surgeries by potential for contamination of the surgical incision; Wound care and healing; The material and sterilization center and infection prevention and control; Infection control and prevention in the operating room. It is concluded that nosocomial infections are a major public health issue, prevention is the easiest, lowest cost and most efficient way to fight this problem, especially surgical site infections.
