Abstract: This work presents the prospection of alternatives for chemical control of the absent quarantine pest (AQP) Bactrocera dorsalis Hendel, 1912 (Diptera: Tephritidae) in order to support plans for integrated pest management in the event of its incursion in Brazil. Twenty-four active ingredients (a.i.) of pesticides used for the control of the pest abroad were identified in international literature. The potential for each a.i. transport (leaching and run-off) was evaluated using screening mathematical modellings, such as the GUS index and the GOSS and Cohen methods. The physical-chemical properties of the a.i. were retrieved from literature and databases. Information on areas with the presence of non-confined aquifers, of porous soils, and of pluviosity greater than 250 mm.year-1 was obtained from a Brazilian territorial zoning map already made available by Embrapa. The impact of each a.i. on bees was also presented, as well as the banned a.i. in the Brazi, both according literatures and databases. The results indicated caution with 15 a.i., due to their leaching´ potential, and with 12 a.i. due to run-off potential (adsorbed to the soil sediment). The results subsidize future public policies of phytosanitary defense focusing on the AQP Bactrocera dorsalis and on the environmental sustainability of Brazilian crop areas.
