Abstract: The theme of this paper is “ELECTORAL PROPAGANDA AND MEDIA REGULATION”, especially its applicability in dealing with the country’s fake news crises. The main objective is to understand whether the measures taken will effectively combat irregularities in electoral propaganda and in the media and whether they meet the needs of society. The first part of the paper aims to address the reasons for the existence of electoral propaganda in a democratic system. Then, by briefly reviewing elections in Brazil, we sought to understand how society develops political participation through digital media and making it easier than in other countries with strong democratic and republican traditions such as the United States and France. After understanding the importance of electoral propaganda in campaigns and the evolution of Brazil that are related to the electoral process, we move on to another part, where we discuss the rules of electoral propaganda, since with the great advances in technology, knowledge of the rules is of utmost importance. Afterwards, we will expose the illicit and criminal propaganda that has been promoted about how some politicians take an erroneous position on electoral crime. We will also expose and promote some cases of fake news in past elections and the importance of regulating the media as a solution to put an end to fake news and the abuse of propaganda. Finally, we will close by talking about the importance that the media has in the decisions of its voters.
