Abstract: Objective: to identify the contributions of the Electronic Patient Record to patient safety. Methodology: Integrative Review, according to the stages of Whittemore and Knafl, with search in the databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, Cumulative Index to Nursing And Allied Health Literature, with assistance from the Mendeley bibliographic reference manager. Results: 126 articles were selected, 119 articles were excluded, totaling 7 articles. Information is central in the health care process, that is, access to real-time information about practices strengthens nurses with clinical evidence to support the contributions of nursing on patient outcomes safely. Conclusion: Thinking about clinical practice, the Electronic Patient Record supports decision making, contributing to patient safety, and also avoids the redundancy of procedures such as exams. Regarding nursing practices, the Electronic Patient Record provides, in real time, any and all data for the development of care and allows the recording of technical and scientific documents necessary to be ethically and legally supported by patients and society. Contributions to nursing practice: Due to the ease of recording much more than in handwritten form, it increases nurses' time availability for direct patient care, thereby improving productivity with a reduction in errors that can cause health incidents and increased job satisfaction
