Abstract: Chronic Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs) represent a serious challenge for public health. The World Health Organization (WHO) classifies chronic diseases as cardiovascular diseases (including cerebrovascular and ischemic diseases). From this perspective, knowing the reality of children and adolescents can generate subsidies (evidence) so that those responsible can create action strategies, specific to the particularities of that population. Develop strategies for preventing NCDs and promoting health in adolescents in public schools. This extension project was carried out at the Instituto Estadual de Educação Elisa Ferrari Valls with high school teenagers from March to September 2017. The actions were developed in three (3) previously defined stages: Stage 1 - Diagnosis of the school reality, Stage 2- Diagnosis of the students' profile, Step 3- Intervention/strategies with the school community. After the three stages, an evaluation of the actions was carried out, in which the school community was questioned about promotion and prevention actions. Stage I identified that the school has approximately 1600 students and 90 teachers. In stage II, 358 adolescents of both sexes were evaluated, and the results showed that 20% of those evaluated were overweight, 23% had accumulation of abdominal fat and 20% had hypertension. The third stage involved actions, such as seminars, workshops, lectures with various health professionals. An informative folder was created to disseminate the results obtained in the collection to teachers and students, in which some information regarding the evaluations was presented. Presenting frightening indicators among adolescents, the possibility of training the school community becomes essential. Among the tasks addressed, a transformation of individuals is observed, with regard to their lifestyle, their way of thinking and acting, tending to concentrate on educational components, aimed at behavioral risks subject to change.
