PROMOÇÃO DA HIGIENE DE MÃOS ENTRE ACADÊMICOS DE MEDICINA E UM PARALELO COM O PROGRAMA NACIONAL DE SEGURANÇA DO PACIENTE
No ano de 2013, foi instituído o Programa Nacional de Segurança do Paciente (PNSP), que tem como um dos seus objetivos fomentar a inclusão do tema segurança do paciente nas graduações da área da saúde. A segurança do paciente não é uma disciplina obrigatória dos currículos na área da saúde, no entanto, há recomendações da Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) que a temática seja tratada de forma transversal nos cursos. Entre as metas internacionais de segurança do paciente temos a meta cinco que aborda a higiene de mãos para evitar infecções. Dessa forma, este relato objetiva descrever a realização de um projeto de extensão para a promoção da higiene de mãos desenvolvido por acadêmicos de medicina e relacioná-lo com o PNSP do Ministério da Saúde. Este capítulo retrata a experiência da implementação de um projeto de extensão realizado em maio de 2019 em uma faculdade de medicina privada do interior paulista. Esse projeto teve como objetivo geral conscientizar os acadêmicos e os profissionais que trabalham na instituição sobre a importância da higiene de mãos. Além dos aspectos teóricos sobre a meta cinco que era compartilhado com os participantes por meio de orientações verbais, os mesmos utilizaram uma caixa pedagógica de higiene de mãos para ilustrar as áreas onde a técnica fosse ineficaz e também houve a exposição de um pôster informativo a respeito do assunto. Participaram da atividade aproximadamente 200 pessoas entre acadêmicos, professores e outros trabalhadores da instituição. Todos se mostraram muito interessados principalmente na utilização da caixa pedagógica. Conclui-se que o projeto de extensão foi realizado de forma satisfatória, os participantes se mostraram interessados na temática. Além disso, o projeto foi ao encontro do que é preconizado no PNSP principalmente em seus objetivos, na definição de cultura de segurança do paciente e em suas estratégias de implementação.

Abstract:
In 2013, the National Patient Safety Program (PNSP) was created, which has as one of its objectives to promote the inclusion of the subject of patient safety in undergraduate courses in the health area. Patient safety is not a mandatory subject of curricula in the health field, however, there are recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) that the theme be treated in a transversal way in the courses. Among the international patient safety goals there is goal five that addresses hand hygiene to prevent infections. Thus, this report aims to describe the realization of an extension project for the promotion of hand hygiene developed by medical students and to relate it to the PNSP of the Ministry of Health. This chapter portrays the experience of implementing an extension project held in May 2019 at a private medical school in the interior of São Paulo. This project aimed to raise the awareness of academics and professionals working at the institution about the importance of hand hygiene. In addition to the theoretical aspects of goal five that were shared with participants through verbal guidance, they used a pedagogical hand hygiene box to illustrate areas where the technique was ineffective and there was also an information poster about the subject. Approximately 200 people participated in the activity, including academics, teachers and other workers of the institution. Everyone was very interested mainly in the use of the pedagogical box. It is concluded that the extension project was carried out satisfactorily, the participants showed interest in the theme. In addition, the project met what is recommended in the PNSP mainly in its objectives, in the definition of a patient safety culture and in its implementation strategies. -
