Abstract: The growth of the poultry industry in Brazil generates a large volume of wastewater with a high organic load, as well as oils, greases, suspended solids, and nutrients. This project presents the development of a Wastewater Treatment Plant for Poultry Slaughterhouses, integrating physical, chemical, and biological treatment stages. The designed system includes screening, static sieving, dissolved air flotation, and a facultative lagoon, all sized according to technical standards and established operational parameters internationally recognized. The physical treatment stage removes solids of different sizes, flotation separates suspended solids and fats through microbubble injection, and the facultative lagoon promotes the degradation of organic matter. The results indicate that the system can reduce the biochemical oxygen demand of the treated effluent to values below 120 mg/L, complying with CONAMA Resolution No. 430/2011 and ensuring the adequate protection of water resources.
