Abstract: In recent years, the demand for lightweight, compact and portable devices have increased the interest of researchers. The biggest challenge is to search for devices with multi-resonant characteristics, as well as to reduce the dimensions of these devices without loss of performance in the most diverse applications, for example, wireless systems. Bioinspired structures originated from polar equations are an interesting alternative in the design of planar antennas due to their design flexibility and suitability for applications in various frequency bands. In their initial phase, these structures present good radiation characteristics, directional radiation pattern in the broadside direction. The antenna designs were aided by simulations with Ansys DesignerTM that implements the method of moments. From these simulations, a prototype was built and duly analyzed. In order to validate the results obtained, comparisons were made between the measured and simulated results of the proposed device, thus verifying a good agreement between their results with potential application in the frequency range of 3.50 GHz. The proposed antenna was excited by the microstrip line technique using a quarter-wave transformer and had its scattering parameters validated in a vector network analyzer through measurements of the various parameters investigated, among which the following stand out: return loss, radiation diagram, input impedance, Voltage Standing Wave Ratio and its bandwidth. The project was designed for the frequency of 3.50 GHz, where we have several wireless applications that make use of this frequency range.
