Abstract: The Integrated High School (IHS) is responsible for technical and propaedeutic training, the last one, being responsible for training the exercise of democratic citizenship in a diverse and plural society.The formation for a democratic citizenship by the need for a history teaching that builds a knowledge which will be useful to understand the world. In this sense, this text explains the integrative project developed at the Instituto Federal Goiano - Campus Posse and social knowledge relevant to the history taught in IHS. To this end, the text is divided into subthemes that discuss the integrative project and the social problem relevant to the history taught. It concludes by signaling that the construction of knowledge which is useful to understand the world, passes by approaching the relevant social problems, since the history is on the streets, in the neighborhoods, in the alleys in the cities and in the countryside.
