Abstract: Microstrip antennas provide researchers with a wide range of possibilities for designing antennas and/or planar antenna arrays and frequency-selective surfaces, with the capacity to operate at high frequencies while maintaining stability and precision, favoring their construction on a large scale and for the most diverse applications in the microwave frequency range. The proposal of this article consists of the design of a log-periodic microstrip antenna array using the Minkowski fractal curve in its 1st interaction (level 1), designed for the operating frequency of Wi-Fi systems at 2.44 GHz (band belonging to the ISM band - industrial, scientific and medical). The entire theoretical study was carried out using the commercial simulator Ansys DesignerTm. In the designed array, the percentage of reduction in the dimensions of the proposed prototype was investigated when compared to an array with rectangular patch elements operating at the same operating frequency. The proposed array was excited by the microstrip line technique (according to the transmission line model - TLM) obeying the logarithmic scale and had its scattering parameters (S parameters) analyzed in a vector network analyzer through experimental measurements. The feed line has an impedance of 50 Ω and the array parameters measured were: return loss (RL), radiation pattern, input impedance, standing wave coefficient (VSWR) and its bandwidth (BW).
