PROIBICIONISMO BRASILEIRO E MORALIDADES NA OPINIÃO PÚBLICA: o papel da mídia maranhense
: O presente texto trata do modelo proibicionista brasileiro no que tange ao uso de determinadas substâncias psicoativas, tidas como drogas ilícitas, e sua adesão pela opinião popular. Parte do questionamento sobre quais seriam as razões pelas quais o modelo vigente ganhou aceitação entre os brasileiros, ao ponto de se tornar uma das justificativas expressas no texto legal da Política Nacional Sobre Drogas de 2019. De início, foi traçado um panorama histórico, a fim de demonstrar como a moralidade protestante estadunidense esteve presente nos primórdios do proibicionismo ocidental. Considerando que os brasileiros pautam suas posições sobre o tema, influenciados pela mídia, foi apresentado, ao final, uma pesquisa em 448 notícias, sobre como a mídia maranhense abordou a temática em 2019.

Abstract:
This article deals with the Brazilian prohibitionist model with regard to the use of certain psychoactive substances, considered as illicit drugs, and their adherence by popular opinion. Part of the questioning about the reasons why the current model gained acceptance among Brazilians, to the point of becoming one of the justifications expressed in the legal text of the National Drug Policy of 2019. At the beginning, a historical panorama was drawn, in order to demonstrate how American Protestant morality was present in the early days of Western prohibitionism. Considering that Brazilians base their positions on the topic influenced by the media, a survey was presented at the end of 448 news stories about how the media in Maranhão approached the topic in 2019.
