PROGRESSÃO REFERENCIAL ENTRE TEXTOS: O CRUZAMENTO DE ANÁLISES QUALITATIVA E QUANTITATIVA PARA A COMPREENSÃO DE UMA COBERTURA CONTÍNUA
Este artigo[1] apresenta alguns dos resultados de uma pesquisa que teve como objetivo analisar como as imagens de objetos de discursos sobre um fato jornalístico são construídas ao longo de uma cobertura. Para tanto, foram selecionadas duas coberturas jornalísticas, dos jornais diários O Estado de S. Paulo e Folha de S. Paulo, sobre um fato que aconteceu em novembro de 2015, conhecido como Atentados em Paris, que repercutiu internacionalmente. As análises quantitativas e qualitativas foram cruzadas com o intuito de mapear como ocorreram as construções dos objetos de discurso e quais as estratégias envolvidas na progressão referencial de um fato que possui retratação gradativa. Partindo, então, dos dados obtidos por meio dessas análises observamos que a progressão referencial pode ocorrer entre textos por meio de estratégias de referenciação, dentre elas, a que apresentaremos neste artigo: as retomadas dos referentes que mantém o núcleo da expressão referencial, com o acréscimo de um modificador junto ao núcleo. Essa observação nos permitiu concluir que essa estratégica pode operar como o principal recurso textual para a viabilidade da construção de uma cobertura jornalística continuada a respeito de um fato, dado que possibilita a identificação e manutenção das imagens edificadas pelo leitor sobre os objetos discursivos. Sendo assim, a progressão referencial entre textos promove o efeito de identidade referencial para os objetos de discurso construídos, garantindo certo modo de compreender os fatos abordados ao longo de uma cobertura.

Abstract:
This research had as objective to analyze how the images of objects of speeches about a journalistic fact are constructed along a cover. In order to do so, two journalistic covers were selected from the daily newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo and Folha de S. Paulo, about a fact that happened in November 2015, known as the "Attacks in Paris", which had internationally repercussions. Quantitative and qualitative analyzes were carried out to map how the constructions of the objects of speech occurred and what strategies were involved in the referential progression of a fact that has gradual retraction. Based on the data obtained through these analyzes, we observed that referential progression can occur between texts by means of referencing strategies, which we will present in this article: the resumption of referents that maintains the nucleus of the referential expression, with the addition of a modifier join to the core. This observation allowed us to conclude that this strategy can operate as the main textual resource for the viability of the construction of a continuous journalistic coverage about a fact, since it allows the identification and maintenance of the images built by the reader on the discursive objects. Thus, the referential progression between texts promotes the effect of referential identity for constructed speech objects, guaranteeing a certain way of understanding the facts covered throughout a cover.
