Abstract: Patient Safety Culture (CSP) can be defined as “the product of values, attitudes, perceptions, competencies and patterns of behavior of groups and individuals that determines the commitment, style and proficiency in managing patient safety in health services". It is necessary to understand and analyze the methods and means that guarantee patient safety in health services to reduce adverse events resulting from failures in these systems. Therefore, the objective of the study was to understand how (CSP) occurs in a diagnostic imaging service. The technique of thematic content analysis by frequency was used, an exploratory reading of the samples was carried out and then a new reading was carried out to cut out the texts in order to establish the analysis categories. It was possible to perceive the strengths of the service, such as effective communication and team commitment, which promote an environment conducive to patient safety, and also weaknesses, especially related to conflicts arising from organizational changes and the need for greater familiarity with the National Program of Patient Safety, however, the team's practices were in accordance with the program guidelines, which may be a result of the effectiveness of the training and policies adopted by the service administration. This work represents an essential starting point for future studies and interventions. The experiences and learning obtained here contribute to the enrichment of the literature on patient safety culture.
