PROGRAMA DE ASSESSORIA JURÍDICA POPULAR - PAJUP: DESENVOLVIMENTO DISCENTE EM DEFESA DOS DIREITOS HUMANOS E A FAVOR DA COLETIVIDADE
O Programa de Assessoria Jurídica Popular – PAJUP, vem, há 12 anos, desenvolvendo junto aos discentes do Centro de Ensino Superior Dom Bosco, atividades de extensão universitária relacionadas com a defesa de Direitos Humanos. Algumas ações foram desenvolvidas junto a órgãos de Direitos Humanos em São Luís e no interior do estado, bem como junto a movimentos sociais e comunidades locais que têm seus direitos violados. Assim, ante a várias situações de conflitos vivenciadas por comunidades na Ilha de São Luís, o PAJUP foi delimitando sua linha de atuação. Tal experiência foi relatada no livro “Direito achado na ilha: tutela jurídica da posse no contexto de conflito fundiário coletivo urbano no município de Paço do Lumiar/MA”, lançado em março de 2018. Portanto, o presente trabalho intenta observar o desenvolvimento dos discentes inseridos no PAJUP, por meio de levantamento bibliográfico e entrevistas com seus membros, destacando conquistas e os desafios para a consolidação de Direitos Humanos, voltados a responder às demandas reais da coletividade. Desse modo, nota-se que essas práticas são fundamentais à vida acadêmica, porque pautadas na concepção de direito crítico e numa formação freiriana e os discentes podem desenvolver no PAJUP maiores habilidades em pesquisa e extensão.

Abstract:
The Popular Legal Advice Program – PAJUP, has been developing, for 12 years, with the students of the Dom Bosco Higher Education Center, university extension activities related to the defense of Human Rights. Some actions were developed with Human Rights bodies in São Luís and in the interior of the state, as well as with social movements and local communities that have their rights violated. Thus, in the face of various situations of conflict experienced by communities on the island of São Luís, the PAJUP defined its line of action. This experience was reported in the book "Law found on the island: legal guardianship of ownership in the context of collective urban land conflict in the municipality of Paço do Lumiar/MA", released in March 2018. Therefore, this paper aims to observe the development of students inserted in the PAJUP, through a bibliographic survey and interviews with its members, highlighting achievements and challenges for the consolidation of Human Rights, aimed at responding to the real demands of the community. Thus, it is noted that these practices are fundamental to academic life, because they are based on the conception of critical law and on a Freirian education, and students can develop greater skills in research and extension at the PAJUP.
