PROFISSÃO PROFESSOR: APONTAMENTOS SOBRE OS CURSOS DE LICENCIATURA EM QUÍMICA
O sistema educacional brasileiro
enfrenta muitos problemas que abarcam
múltiplos aspectos. O presente texto versa
sobre a problemática da falta de professores
de Química na Educação Básica decorrente
da evasão dos cursos de licenciatura e do
não exercício da profissão do magistério.
Objetivou-se avaliar os aspectos referentes aos
dados oficiais da oferta de vaga, ingressantes
e concluintes nos cursos de Licenciatura em
Química das Instituições de Educação Superior
(públicas e privadas) no Brasil. Trata-se de
um estudo exploratório com abordagem qualiquantitativa, cujos dados foram obtidos pela
pesquisa documental a partir das Sinopses
Estatísticas do Censo da Educação Superior
realizado pelo Instituto Nacional de Estudos e
Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira (INEP),
no período de 2011 a 2015. Observamos que
na rede privada a oferta de vagas é superior
aos inscritos, mas a rede pública tem acentuada
procura. Porém, em ambas categorias de
instituições de ensino as vagas ofertadas não
são totalmente preenchidas e a evasão do curso
apresenta altos índices. A desistência pelo
ingresso no curso e exercício da docência pode
estar associada aos fatores desestimulantes
para a escolha dessa profissão, dentre os quais
são destacados a desvalorização profissional
e os salários pouco atrativos. São necessárias
mudanças na postura dos professores
formadores de professores e nas políticas
públicas voltadas à educação, motivadas a partir
dos aspectos salientados no texto, visando a
melhoria da qualidade da educação brasileira.

Abstract:
The Brazilian educational system
faces many problems that encompass multiple
aspects. The present text talks about the
problematic of the lack of teachers of Chemistry
in Basic Education due to the avoidance of
teacher training courses and non-exercise of
the teaching profession. The objective of this
study was to evaluate the aspects related to
the official data on the vacancies, entrants and
graduating in the chemistry degree courses
of Higher Education Institutions (public and
private) in Brazil. This is an exploratory study
with a qualitative-quantitative approach, whose data were obtained by the documentary research from the Statistics Synopsis of the
Higher Education Census carried out by the National Institute of Educational Studies
and Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP), in the period of 2011 to 2015. We observe that in
the private network the offer of vacancies is higher than the enrolled ones, but the public
network has a strong demand. However, in both categories of educational institutions,
the vacancies offered are not fully filled and the dropout rate is high. The dropping
out of attendance in the course and exercise of teaching may be associated with the
discouraging factors for the choice of this profession, among which the professional
devaluation and the unattractive salaries are highlighted. There is a need for changes
in the posture of teacher educators and public policies aimed at education, motivated by
the aspects highlighted in the text, aimed at improving the quality of Brazilian education.
