PRODUÇÃO E COMERCIALIZAÇÃO DE MEL NO TERRITÓRIO DA BACIA DO JACUÍPE, BAHIA
A apicultura no Brasil foi iniciada com a chegada dos colonizadores. Disseminada em todo o território nacional, a apicultura na região semiárida brasileira encontra as condições climáticas e vegetais propicias para o desenvolvimento das diferentes atividades apícolas. Dentre essas atividades, o mel se destaca como alimento consumido em todo mundo, onde a China é o principal produtor e comprador no cenário mundial. O Brasil se destaca como produtor e exportador de mel, sendo o estado da Bahia responsável por 5,27% da produção nacional. A Cooperativa de Produção da Região do Piemonte da Diamantina, surgiu para auxiliar a comercialização de diversos produtos produzidos pela agricultura familiar, dentre eles, o mel de abelhas Apis mellifera. A Cooperativa abrange vários municípios da região, com características de agricultura familiar, na qual a apicultura é uma importante fonte de renda. A maior produção de mel nessa região geralmente ocorre no primeiro semestre do ano. Os dados da Cooperativa referentes à produção e comercialização de mel na região em 2020 revelam que houve crescimento da atividade apícola, com aumento na produção e na produtividade das colônias. Esse fato foi associado ao volume e distribuição da precipitação pluviométrica durante os meses do ano na região. A comercialização do mel pela cooperativa foi realizada em grande quantidade e o valor médio ficou em torno de R$ 6,50 por quilo. Considerando os aspectos socioeconômico e ambientais atrelados a atividade apícola e o crescimento dessa atividade geradora de renda no Território da Bacia do Jacuípe é importante o suporte de assistência técnica qualificada para melhorar o manejo das colônias, além da organização da cadeia, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento da apicultura no Território.

Abstract:
Beekeeping in Brazil started with the arrival of settlers. Spread throughout the national territory, beekeeping in the semi-arid region of Brazil finds climatic and plant conditions conducive to the development of different beekeeping activities. Among these activities, honey stands out as a food consumed around the world, where China is the main producer and buyer on the world stage. Brazil stands out as a producer and exporter of honey, with the state of Bahia accounting for 5.27% of national production. The Production Cooperative of the Piedmont Region of Diamantina, emerged to assist in the marketing of various products produced by family farming, among them, the honey from Apis mellifera bees. The Cooperative covers several municipalities in the region, with characteristics of family farming, in which beekeeping is an important source of income. The largest honey production in this region usually occurs in the first half of the year. The Cooperative's data regarding the production and commercialization of honey in the region in 2020 reveal that there was an increase in the beekeeping activity, with an increase in production and productivity in the colonies. This fact was associated with the volume and distribution of rainfall during the months of the year in the region. The commercialization of honey by the cooperative was carried out in large quantities and the average value was around R$ 6.50 per kilo. Considering the socioeconomic and environmental aspects linked to the beekeeping activity and the growth of this income-generating activity in the Jacuípe Basin Territory, it is important to support qualified technical assistance to improve the management of colonies, in addition to the organization of the chain, contributing to the development of beekeeping in the Territory.
