Abstract: The use of by-products in animal feed is seen as an economic and sustainable activity to reduce waste and environmental impact. With this in mind, these derivatives are used as food raw materials for animal productivity and are applied to the diets of different animal species, seeking to extract the maximum of their nutritional potential. For beef cattle, a large chain of these by-products is used, such as corn, cassava, sugar cane and pineapple by-products. When used at adequate levels, desired results are achieved, such as good carcass yield, meat quality, good feed conversion, among others. Thus, through a brief review of the literature, we seek to present possible agro-industrial residues that can be used in the composition of diets for cattle to replace corn, in order to reduce spending on animal feed, a factor that burdens the confinement system.
