Abstract: This paper presents a new formula for the handmade production of lipstick that avoids contamination by heavy metals and discusses its teaching in the light of Kolb's learning styles. Handmade production brings consumers and producers closer together, encouraging appreciation of the uniqueness of this production, as well as raising awareness of contamination in cosmetics used in everyday life. Kolb's theory, in turn, while creating practical and laboratory situations aligned with experiential learning, incorporates reflective and theoretical discussions that broaden the understanding of chemical principles. It is hoped that this will strengthen the teaching of chemistry as a transformative tool, capable of forming an aware citizen who is able to intervene in society in a positive way, developing a sense of belonging and the impetus to take care not only of the school they attend, but also of the world they live in.
