PROCESSOS DE QUALIFICAÇÃO E DE INTERVENÇÃO NO CURSO DE APRIMORAMENTO INTERPROFISSIONAL EM OBSTETRÍCIA: UM ESTUDO MISTO

• Abstract: Objectives: To understand the qualification and intervention processes in the Interprofessional Obstetrics Improvement Course. Methods: A single-case mixed-methods study with a qualitative- quantitative design, involving 9 trainees from the Interprofessional Obstetrics Improvement Course at Federal Fluminense University and 9 healthcare professionals from the maternity ward serving as the course's training setting. Sociodemographic and professional questionnaires were administered; the Readiness for Interprofessional Learning Scale (RIPLS) was applied to all participants, along with an open-ended questionnaire for the trainees. Data were tabulated and analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Wilcoxon test. For qualitative data, content analysis was conducted with the support of ATLAS.ti 22 software. Results: In the qualitative analysis, the following categories were identified: (1) Collaborative care: a real challenge for strengthening interprofessional teamwork in childbirth and delivery; (2) Management as a driving force in the collaborative care process during childbirth. RIPLS results demonstrated positive attitudes toward teamwork and collaboration, as well as patient-centered healthcare, with numerous points of convergence with the qualitative data. Final Considerations: The management process enables institutional changes that better ensure interprofessional team-based obstetric care.
