PRINCIPAIS ALTERAÇÕES EMBRIOLÓGICAS DAS MALFORMAÇÕES CONGÊNITAS LARÍNGEAS, TRAQUEAIS E PULMONARES
As malformações congênitas do sistema respiratório são um conjunto de patologias caracterizadas por alterações estruturais ou funcionais que ocorrem durante o desenvolvimento embrionário. Originam-se, principalmente, entre a quarta e a oitava semanas do período embrionário e resultam em anomalias com gravidade variável dependendo das estruturas anatômicas afetadas e do estágio de desenvolvimento ao qual estão associadas. A manifestação clínica dessas malformações varia desde disfunções respiratórias graves ao nascimento até achados acidentais em radiografias do tórax mais tardiamente. A sobrevida dos pacientes depende do tipo de lesão e dos sintomas apresentados. Ainda existem divergências quanto à etiologia de muitas dessas doenças, o que dificulta o diagnóstico e o tratamento dos pacientes. O objetivo do presente artigo é, portanto, apresentar uma noção geral acerca das malformações congênitas relacionadas ao sistema respiratório, bem como conhecer a origem embriológica dessas alterações. Foram selecionadas algumas malformações específicas da laringe, da traqueia e dos pulmões.

Abstract:
Congenital malformations of the respiratory system are a set of pathologies characterized by structural and functional modifications that happen during the embryonic development. Their origin commonly occurs between the fourth and the eighth weeks of the embryonic period and they result in anomalies with distinct severity depending on the anatomical structures affected and on the development stage they are associated with. The clinical manifestations can present in different ways from severe respiratory distress at birth to an incidental finding on a chest X-ray. The life expectancy of the patients depends on the severity of the abnormalities and on the symptoms presented. There are still disagreements regarding the etiology of some of these diseases, which complicates the diagnosis and the treatment of patients. The aim of this article is, therefore, to present general informations related to the congenital malformations of the respiratory system and to clarify the embryonic origin of these modifications. There has been selected some specific malformations of the larynx, the trachea and the lungs.
