PREVENÇÃO DE LESÃO POR PRESSÃO EM IDOSOS EM UNIDADE DE TERAPIA INTENSIVA: UMA REVISÃO DE LITERATURA
Objetivo: Conhecer a produção científica atual acerca da atuação da equipe de enfermagem na prevenção de lesão por pressão em idosos em unidade de terapia intensiva. Método: Trata-se de uma revisão de literatura, construída a partir da leitura de artigos sobre o tema nas bases de dados da Biblioteca Virtual Da Saúde, utilizando os seguintes descritores: Idoso, Lesão por Pressão, Unidade de Terapia Intensiva, Enfermagem. Resultados: As complicações das lesões por pressão em idosos são diversas, sendo essencial a prevenção dessa. Os enfermeiros desempenham papel fundamental nessa prevenção, ao garantir a mobilidade do paciente no leito, ofertar e administrar alimentos, diminuir a exposição à umidade, além de evitar fricção e cisalhamento, dentre outras medidas. Destaca-se a necessidade de utilizar instrumentos de avaliação da pele, também como método de prevenção. Conclusão: Há diversos dispositivos para prevenir as LP nos idosos na UTI, que podem ser utilizados pelo enfermeiro. Também se percebe o papel essencial do enfermeiro frente à temática, e a importância do conhecimento e aplicação desse na assistência à idosos em UTI.

Abstract:
Objective: To know the current scientific production about the performance of the nursing staff in the prevention of pressure injury in the elderly in intensive care unit. Method: This is a literature review, built from reading articles on the theme in the Virtual Health Library databases, using the following descriptors: Elderly, Pressure Injury, Intensive Care Unit, Nursing. Results: Complications of pressure injuries in the elderly are diverse, and its prevention is essential. Nurses play a fundamental role in this prevention by ensuring patient mobility in bed, offering and administering food, reducing exposure to moisture, and avoiding friction and shear, among other measures. We highlight the need to use skin assessment instruments, also as a prevention method. Conclusion: There are several devices to prevent LP in the elderly in the ICU, which can be used by nurses. It is also perceived the essential role of nurses regarding the theme, and the importance of knowledge and application of this in the care of the elderly in ICU.
