PRESENÇA FEMININA NO SAMBA DE RAIZ: TIA CIATA, UMA TESTEMUNHA DOS TERREIROS, DA CULTURA E DA LINGUAGEM
Inscrito em uma perspectiva interdisciplinar entre língua, cultura e sociedade, este trabalho tem como objetivo discutir o papel/participação da mulher no processo histórico de consolidação do samba de raiz. Para isso, os princípios metodológicos que estruturam a reflexão organizam-se em torno das noções de testemunho e testemunha (AGAMBEN, 2008) e da relação necessária entre língua e sociedade (BENVENISTE, 1968/2006). Sob inspiração do fundamento saussuriano acerca do sistema, o qual singulariza o Curso de Linguística Geral, colocamo-nos, pois, no terreno da língua e a tomamos como norma para toda manifestação de linguagem – o samba de raiz é uma delas. Isso porque, ao responder à problemática que originou este estudo – qual o papel da mulher na consolidação do samba de raiz –, defendemos que a identidade da mulher e sua notoriedade na cultura do samba jamais se limitaram a representações coadjuvantes. A mulher, desde sua presença na Pequena África, foi testemunha (superstes) da raiz do samba. Por essa razão, o valor de seu testemunho, que está impresso na língua, sobrevive até hoje na cultura brasileira.

Abstract:
Inscribed in an interdisciplinary perspective between language, culture and society, this paper aims to discuss the role/participation of women in the historical process of consolidating the samba de raiz. For this, the methodological principles that structure the reflection are organized around the notions of testimony and witness (AGAMBEN, 2008) and the necessary relation between language and society (BENVENISTE, 1968/2006). Under the inspiration of saussurean thoughts about the system, that distinguish the Curso de Linguística Geral, we place ourselves in the field of language as tongue and take it as the norm for all manifestation of language – the samba de raiz is one of them. This is because, in responding to the problematic that originated this study – the role of women in the consolidation of samba de raiz –, we argue that the identity of women and their notoriety in samba culture were never limited to secondary representations. The woman, since her presence in Pequena África, was a witness (superstes) of raiz do samba. For this reason, the value of her testimony, which is imprinted in the language, survives even today in Brazilian culture.
