PRÁTICAS PERMACULTURAIS: IMPACTOS AMBIENTAIS POSITIVOS DESENVOLVIDOS NA UNIVERSIDADE ESTADUAL DO CEARÁ PARA APLICAÇÕES NO SEMIÁRIDO
O Núcleo de Estudos e Práticas Permaculturais do Semiárido (Neppsa), situado na Universidade Estadual do Ceará, Campus Itaperi, existe a 10 anos e atua na difusão e desenvolvimento de tecnologias sociais e ambientais direcionadas ao semiárido. Assim, este estudo objetivou verificar os impactos ambientais positivos do Neppsa, por meio das suas atividades. Realizou-se no mês de abril/2018, visitas de campo ao Núcleo, identificando quais atividades são desenvolvidas e como estas acontecem. Dentre as atividades funcionais desenvolvidas, tem-se o espiral de ervas, técnica de aquaponia, sistema de agroflorestas, viveiro de mudas, compostagem associada à minhocultura, mini-meliponário, horta, tratamento dos resíduos da suinocultura e o banco de sementes do bioma Caatinga. Dessarte, evidencia-se a importância da existência do Núcleo para o ambiente universitário de forma geral e para a comunidade local, ressaltando-se a relevância deste tipo de ambiente que promove atividades de práticas permaculturais, e que requerem maiores investimentos e incentivos para que estas atividades possam ser cada vez mais difundidas.

Abstract:
The Center for Semi-Arid Permaculture Studies and Practices (Neppsa), located at the State University of Ceará, Itaperi Campus, has been in existence for 10 years and is engaged in the diffusion and development of social and environmental technologies directed to the semi-arid region. Thus, this study’s goal is to verify the positive environmental impacts of Neppsa through its main activities. In April / 2018, field visits were made to the Center, identifying what activities were being developed and how they were carried out. Among the functional activities developed are the making of herbal spirals, aquaponics, agroforestry system, nursery of seedlings, composting associated with earthworm culture, mini-meliponary, a vegetable garden, treatment of swine residues and a seed bank of the Caatinga biome. Therefore, it is evident the importance of Neppsa for the university environment, in general, and for the local community. Likewise, it highlights the relevance of this kind of environment that promotes permaculture practices and that require greater investments and incentives for these activities can be more widespread.
