PRÁTICAS DE LEITURA E INTERPRETAÇÃO DE TEXTOS CURTOS EM LÍNGUA INGLESA NO ENSINO MÉDIO
O presente trabalho se baseia na elaboração e execução de um projeto de leitura e interpretação de textos em inglês para um grupo de alunos do 3º ano do ensino médio regular de uma escola estadual localizada no município de Campo Novo do Parecis, região norte do Estado de Mato Grosso. Esta pesquisa objetiva fomentar o interesse pela leitura de textos curtos em língua inglesa e desenvolver a habilidade de leitura e compreensão global no idioma. Portanto, apesar de muitos estudantes relatarem possuir grande dificuldade na compreensão de frases e textos em língua inglesa, constatou-se que a partir da execução do presente projeto foi possível conscientizar os alunos acerca da extrema importância da língua inglesa tanto no meio acadêmico quanto profissional, além de contribuir para o desenvolvimento da habilidade de leitura e interpretação de textos curtos em inglês.

Abstract:
This work is based on the elaboration and execution of a project of reading and interpreting texts in English for a group of 3rd year students of regular high school of a state school located in the municipality of Campo Novo do Parecis, northern region of the State of Mato Grosso. This research aims to foster interest in reading short texts in English and to develop the ability to read and globally understand the language. Therefore, although many students report having great difficulty in understanding phrases and texts in English, it was found that from the execution of this project it was possible to raise students' awareness of the extreme importance of the English language both in the academic and professional environment, in addition to contributing to the development of the ability to read and interpret short texts in English.
